Soo Cafe Reviews
I was waiting outside for someone and saw this place. I called in to place a small order. The man who answered was sooo nice and cheerful. When I walked in it was very clean inside and I was greeted by the same nice, cheerful man who took my order. The food was fresh and hot and DELICIOUS!!! I was so happy I stopped by. Will definitely be back and definitely recommend!!
Went with a group of 15 for lunch. They were expecting us and were able to take our orders, serve us, and let us pay in one hour. Amazing for such a large group. The chicken tenders were delicious. Great crunch and a tad spicy. Kimchi was quite good. This is not a fancy place, but it was clean and the food was hot and tasty. I need to try something else to determine if this should be 5 stars, not 4, and plan to be back soon.
Chicken batter is crispyyy. Their batter exterior is different than most places. It's more like a shell than a batter.. it's very light, but crisp.. it stays crispy until the next day. The hot and spicy has heat, and the Soo special is a ginger/five spice sort of flavor which I'm not used to in Korean food, although good, and not overpowering. Their bibimbap is good as well, but they do not have ban chan, fyi.
I mostly came here to try the Korean fried chicken wings and I wasn't disappointed! The flavor of the sauce was unique and unlike anything I've ever had before. They were crispy too! The bulgogi was just okay - edible, but not great. And also came in a very small portion in my opinion. I'd still come here again to try some other menu items, specifically some kimchi since I didn't try any this time! Otherwise, the service was good and the inside was nice! It was pretty empty on a weekday for dinner. I hope more people can start coming
So this place was recommended by my friend. She's been coming here a long time! And she raved about the chicken. We got there when they opened around 11am. Service was great, but the place also wasn't very busy. They did have a lot of pick up orders. I also saw that they had karaoke rooms! Back in college we had places like this! So glad to know of somewhere in Raleigh! I got the chicken tenders but I got my sauce on the side because I wanted to share with my son. It was crunchy and juicy! The house sauce (soy garlic) was good but I think I'd prefer to get a spicy sauce next time. I also got the Samgyeopsal. It had onions and garlic with it. It comes with your sesame oil and salt and pepper, the bean curd sauce, and a a sweet/vinegar dipping sauce. I had to ask for gochujung. The pork belly was sliced nice and thin. They only gave me 3-4 Romain lettuce leaves. It wasn't enough to wrap all my meat, so I ate the remaining meat with the rice I still had. I had a great experience and I would definitely come again.
One of my favorite restaurants in the triangle! As a vegetarian, I always get the vegetarian hot bibimbap. My friends will always get one of their wings with varying sauces. Overall, the bibimbap I get does not look like anything special, but for some reason always tastes better than any other place I've had it. Only downside is that the dish and wings have definitely gotten smaller likely due to "shrinkflation" but I would say it is still worth it. The location is a strip mall in Raleigh. Looks empty from the outside but very spacious on the inside. Usually not too busy and the one person running it is always very friendly and helpful. If it is busy you may have to wait but I would say it is worth it. Prices are average and not too expensive. Overall, one of my favorites over the years and glad to see it is still open! Would recommend.
